Mr. Perretta has spent the last 14 years as a voice and data communications professional, specializing in the design and implementation of enterprise-wide networks, and as well as voice, video and faxing technologies.  Mr. Perretta’s vast experience and understanding of both telecommunications and data networking gives him an exceptional perspective in planning and implementing UC system and emerging VoIP technologies. Areas of Expertise:

 

• Data network design, implementation, and management, including all components such as switches, routers, firewalls, file and print services, email/message collaboration services, wireless services, applications servers, tape backup solutions, and VPN,

• Server design and hands-on implementation, including network server implementation, application server, domain name services (web access and email), desktop software

• RFP (Request for Proposal) preparation, distribution, and evaluation for complete telecommunications solutions, including PBX and UC system, Voicemail and Unified Messaging, ACD, IVR, video conferencing, and carrier services for local, long distance, and wide area networks.

• UC system network design and analysis, including implementing and testing end-to-end Quality of Service and ensuring system reliability.

• Project management for the implementation of PBX and telecommunications systems and facilities, specializing in UC system & voice/data convergence.

• Evaluation of existing voice and data platforms, and provide recommendations for upgrades or replacement of systems.

• Review and analyze existing local and long distance facilities, bills, and calling plans.

• Provide contract analysis for existing and proposed telecommunications service agreements.

• Evaluation of existing communications cabling plant, and provide recommendations to accommodate existing and emerging technologies.

• Data Center planning, design, and project management including requirements for space, HVAC, and electrical requirements, and providing equipment room layout.

• Assist management to provide yearly budgets for telecommunications and IT equipment and services.

• Develop, implement, and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans for IT and telecommunications systems and services.

• Assist client in providing job descriptions for IT and telecommunications staff, as well as conduct first-level interviews for the positions.

• Provide on-site IT and telecommunications services in lieu of in-house staff.

 

Professional Experience

Prior to being an independent consultant, Mr. Perretta was Vice President of Communications Engineering, Inc. for 10 years and provided consulting services for a wide variety of clients spanning many industries, including securities, healthcare, insurance, banking, law, printing, and entertainment.  Mr. Perretta was also a network engineer at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) for two years.
